A Rural Balearic Villa Dining and Entertaining Space

This chic, spacious villa in Mallorca is a classic yet modern holiday home with breezy interiors that immediately bring about a sense of calm and relaxation.

We incorporated plenty of natural materials such as metals and stone in the interior design scheme to communicate the coastal property’s rural character. This was balanced with accent accessories and eye-catching artwork to ensure it also felt modern and distinctive. For this project, Designed by Woulfe won the ‘Residential Interior Private Residence Spain’ award at the European Property Awards 2020.

A stand-out design feature in this part of the coastal villa is a gorgeous art commission by American artist William McClure. The large piece incorporates a similarly natural colour palette to the interiors, with plenty of stone, brown, sand, white and blue.

The glass-blown ‘Blob lamp’ by Porta Romana was so beautiful we chose to have a pair sitting atop the console to adorn and illuminate the dining and entertaining space. With amethyst-coloured blown and moulded glass and nickel-plated brass, they are a fine example of magnificent craftsmanship.

We selected further artwork by Fay McCaul, whose studio is known for mixing modern materials with traditional textile methods. The wall art installation is made up of multiple metallic square pieces, arranged in perfect formation to provide an eye-catching backdrop when dining.

Designed for Entertaining

We opted for sophisticated dining Anziano chairs from Rubelli in cognac leather to frame the large dining table. With metal legs and exposed stitching, they add an industrial edge.

No entertaining space is complete without a statement-making drinks trolley. This steel ‘Come As You Are’ bar cart by Christophe de la Fontaine from Dante is cool and contemporary.
