As London’s property market continues to grow, residential, commercial and other multi-use property developments of varying scales are cropping up across the city. From much sought after luxury new homes in the heart of town to incredible new real estate that’s putting otherwise overlooked areas firmly on the map, there’s definitely a lot to be excited about. We’ve rounded up our favourite 25 new developments in London for 2020 and beyond.

Peninsula London Project

Owned and operated by The Hong kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, this elegant development will come to life in 2021. Comprising 189 rooms, ballroom and meeting facilities, restaurants and bars, spa and leisure facilities, retail units and residential apartments, The Peninsula London sits in the heart of Belgravia at Hyde Park Corner. Hopkins Architects have been enlisted for the project.

Battersea Power Station

The iconic Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (who also designed the Tate Modern) is one of London’s most anticipated mixed-use developments. The legendary landmark has several to buy and to let properties listed which offer unique, iconic living spaces. The project is driven by Malaysian property development and investment businesses, S P Setia Berhad, Sime Darby, and Employees Provident Fund.

Spire London

Sitting 771ft above West India Quay by London’s Canary Wharf, Spire London epitomises glamorous urban city living. The 67-storey tower houses 861 suites, apartments and penthouses. It is the tallest consented residential tower in Western Europe, developed by Greenland Group and created by award-winning architecture practice HOK.

Elizabeth House

The Elizabeth House development in Waterloo is being designed, built and managed by HB Reavis, who specialise in international workspaces. Allford Hall Monaghan Morris are the lead architects for the site. The project, designed with well-being and productivity in mind, will provide around 1.2 million sq ft of office and retail space.

Cadence King's Cross

Cadence is a characterful property development in the heart of vibrant Kings Cross, which will add 103 stylish studios and apartments to the well-connected area. Completing in Autumn 2022, the redbrick building is designed by award-winning Alison Brooks Architects with interiors by Conran and Partners.

The Broadway London

The Broadway Westminster fuses heritage and modern luxury in London’s SW1 and is set on the former site of the Metropolitan Police headquarters. The multiplex, which incorporates six towers, will introduce a new street at the heart of the development. Retail and office spaces, a public square, cafés, art, music and markets will all add to the vibrancy of this new community setting. Developers Northacre and Abu Dhabi Financial Group enlisted Squire and Partners as the project’s architects.

Bankside Yards

Developed by Native Land, Bankside Yards is set across a 5.5 acre site and around 14 historic railway arches. The space will include homes, offices, shops, hospitality, culture and plenty of open space. Four separate architectural practices were called on for Bankside Yards; PLP, Allies & Morrison, Stiff & Trevillion and Ken Shuttleworth’s Make Architects.

Chelsea Barracks

One of London’s most talked-about projects, Chelsea Barracks is the flagship London development of Qatari Diar. Situated in Belgravia, the exclusive address displays beautiful architecture imbued with timeless British style. The project was master planned collaboratively by Dixon Jones, Squire and Partners and Kim Wilkie Associates.

Hexagon Apartments

This contemporary collection of luxury homes in London’s Covent Garden is as spirited and eccentric as the area it occupies. Developed by BNP Paribas Real Estate, Hexagon Apartments was designed by world-renowned architects Squire & Partners, with interior specification by leading designers Michaelis Boyd.

Television Centre

Putting White City on the map, the Television Centre development includes homes, retail, restaurants, office, wellness, leisure and entertainment spaces, as well as a Soho House and Soho Works property. Designed by Stirling Prize winners Allford Hall Monagham Morris, the monumental project was led by esteemed developers Stanhope.

Embassy Gardens

Set in the riverside district in the heart of Nine Elms, this 15-acre mixed-use development has attracted investors and residents alike. Ballymore Group developed the Embassy Gardens project, while the project master plan was developed by Terry Farrell and Partners. Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and FLACQ/Arup served as the designers.

The Mansion

A classy and sophisticated property development in London’s chic Marylebone Lane with enviable wellness facilities. On the outside, architects DSDHA have masterfully created a building that is cutting edge without clashing with its historic surroundings. Inside, interiors by Arney Fender Katsalidis bring the open plan living spaces to life.

Wardian London

Providing a haven of tranquility in Canary Wharf, Wardian London fuses modern architecture (by Glenn Howells) with innovative landscaping. Heavily influenced by nature, this residential-led development by Eco World-Ballymore provides high-rise living that contrasts boldly with the area’s existing property offerings.

10 George Street

A new collection of build-to-rent developments, 10 George Street rises 37 storeys above Canary Wharf. Each apartment has been created for modern, open-plan living and makes the most of natural light. Developed by Canary Wharf Group and designed by GRID Architects, with interiors by Angel O’Donnell.

Newfoundland

Another Canary Wharf development, this time from South Quays Properties, Newfoundland is a 58-storey tower with 636 apartments with dramatic views over the River Thames and the city. The site has been designed by renowned Mayfair-based architects, Horden Cherry Lee and structural engineers WSP.

The Dumont

The Dumont residential complex from St James, part of the Berkeley Group, is made up of 186 luxury apartments and penthouses. Designed by the internationally recognised David Walker Architects, the far-reaching waterside views stretch across Chelsea, Battersea, the City and The Houses of Parliament.

250 City Road

This 36-storey tower designed by Foster and Partners is a landmark mixed-use development from Berkeley. Once it is complete, there will be two towers of 42 and 36 storeys, 930 apartments and a 190-room hotel, right at the centre of London’s EC1.

Kensington Row

Kensington Row is a £2 billion development in West Kensington. It is the newest development from St Edward, part of the Berkeley Group, and Squire and Partners. The residential project brings a fresh look to W14, with its beautiful landscaped gardens and fully dressed and ready-to-go apartments.

West End Gate

West End Gate is a 2.66 acre site on Edgware Road in the sought-after London postcode of W2. Just moments from Little Venice, residents will be privy to 24-hour concierge, a private cinema room, pool, gym and spa. Developed by Berkeley with Squire and Partners serving as architects.

One Blackfriars

One Blackfriars, also known as The Vase or The Boomerang, marries advanced technology and impeccable design. Architects Simpson Haugh and Partners are responsible for the distinctive structure, which provides 274 private properties, ideally situated just a stone’s throw from London’s eccentric South Bank.

London Dock

St. George, part of the Berkeley Group, has created a brand new landscape for East London’s Wapping with one of the largest projects in the capital. The scheme boasts six acres of green space and there’s even room for a new secondary school. Designed by award-winning architects Patel Taylor.

9 Millbank

A development by St Edward in Westminster, SW1, the property showcases elegant living in one of London’s most prestigious addresses. Designed by Eric Parry Architects, it’s made up of 2 Grade II listed buildings which will provide 177 new homes once completed in 2021.

Twelve Trees Park

Developers Berkeley are reimagining a 10 hectare site in Stephenson Street, Newham which will provide the grounds for a new school and green space, as well as nearly 30,000 square feet of retail space as well as 3,500 homes to buy and rent. Just minutes from West Ham station, it will be one of the best connected developments in London.

The Mansions Development

This development offers a brand new collection of 1, 2, 3 & 4 bedroom apartments surrounded by beautiful parkland in London’s idyllic Wimbledon Village.
