REVĪVŌ Wellness Resort Chateau de Fiac, France is a relaxing spa hotel in the beautiful southern French countryside. Set to open at the end of 2021, the spa, which includes a rejuvenating salt cave, looks as charming and picturesque as the rest of the resort which is housed in a 19th century Castle. Working with local craftsmen, the fixtures, fittings and ceramics were all sourced locally. A traditional, old-world style Phyto Bar celebrates the powerful healing properties of herbs, aromatic essential oils, and herbal and floral extracts.

Aman hotels are typically found in far-flung, reclusive destinations, but their recent opening in Manhattan is the epitome of an urban retreat. The cutting-edge three-storey spa focuses on holistic wellbeing and spans 2,300 sq m. Designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy from Denniston, the design incorporates the Asian elements synonymous with the brand, fusing them with a contemporary New York feel. Private outdoor relaxation terraces complete with hot and cold plunge pools and a 20-metre indoor pool framed by fire pits and lit with huge copper hanging domes are the epitome of inner-city luxury.

Café Royal is one of London's leading design hotels and its spa, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre, has gained plenty of recognition for its luxuriously minimalist interiors. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, Akasha Spa’s understated aesthetic is instantly grounding and serene, resplendent in Carrara marble.

Aman Spa at The Connaught, London
Contemporary design with strong Asian influences was the inspiration for Aman Spa in London’s legendary Connaught Hotel. Interior designer Jaya Ibrahim incorporated a neutral palette of grey, stone, oak, silk, pewter and cotton combined with typically Asian accents such as stones and plenty of dark and light wood for an overall feel that’s modern and soothing.

A Tom Dixon-designed The Mondrian Hotel on London’s South Bank, a glowing copper water droplet takes centre stage within the spa. The suspended fibreglass sculpture hangs majestically above a starlit pool, casting gentle shadows across the ceiling. Further organic elements are reflected throughout the spa’s interior design scheme, with continuous forms and flowing shapes which evoke a sense of calm.

Housed within the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, this serene spa is one of the city’s largest, occupying 21,527 square feet. The subterranean escape brings about a sense of calm in the most regal of surroundings, with a 25-metre colonnaded swimming pool, a gold leaf glass vitality pool and a reception desk that’s made of Onyx.
