Our vision for this luxury property in Phuket, Thailand was to create a serene, modern space with earthy colours, influenced by the surrounding natural environment. Light and dark stone greys, deep navy and marine blues, soft beiges and rich creams delivered a coastal palette, creating an atmosphere conducive to calm. This vast tropical residence showcases an opulent, modern take on oriental-style architecture. Each room in the property was a suite featuring its own living, bathroom and wardrobe areas as well as a private terrace with ocean views. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows made staying in the property an oceanfront experience that’s second to none. Low Oriental-style beds, in-room freestanding baths and large mirrors positioned deliberately to reflect light make the space feel all the more expansive.
The property includes a spa, gym and home cinema and outdoors, an infinity pool overlooks the sea. To frame the pool, we sourced neutral-shaded sunbeds with thin legs which allow for clear views of the water beyond. Our approach with this project was to let the natural landscape, namely local flora and fauna, take centre stage and have our design merely compliment nature’s offering. We featured natural textures reminiscent of rocks and stone throughout, and selected artworks which mirrored the multiple blue hues offered by the sea and sky outside.
