We acted as design consultant to the award-winning luxury property developer Stephen Paine during the concept and design developmental stages of these stylish beachfront residences in Thailand. Comprising four penthouses and eight duplexes, our challenge was to devise a floor plan and overall look which delivered ‘villa living’ to the apartments. The property developers were keen to infuse the feel of a luxury villa into these spaces which were easy to lock-up and did not require the maintenance services often associated with larger properties.
We supported the developer in defining the individual properties’ layouts, making the very best use of space to ensure buyers’ lifestyle requirements were fully accommodated while also providing a ‘wow’ factor. The use of a neutral colour palette meant nothing detracted from the stunning sea views offered by the development, and deep, low-lying sofas and chairs were included to promote utter relaxation.
Brian’s refreshing and innovative approach to modern tropical design promises to create some of Phuket’s more interesting properties over the next few years. Working with Brian was a unique experience that allowed me to fully appreciate the extent of his enormous talent.
